The Witcher fans are still desperate to see Liam Hemsworth's Geralt in action. While we anxiously await the first trailer for Season 4 of Netflix's incredibly popular and divisive fantasy adaptation, Graham McTavish promises that even the most die-hard Henry Cavill fans will love Hemsworth's portrayal of Geralt. McTavish plays Sigismund Dijkstra, the Redanian spy in the series, working closely with Henry Cavill in the first three seasons. After Cavill departed from the show following Season 3, Liam Hemsworth stepped in to wield the silver sword.

Speaking to The Nerd Shepherd, Graham McTavish said fans will love Liam Hemsworth's performance, and expressed his thoughts about Netflix replacing Henry Cavill. "I can’t really tell you too much about that because they [Netflix] would kill me," when asked for plot details about Season 3. But, the actor didn't hold back in his praise for Hemsworth. McTavish said:
"I can tell you that I worked with Liam Hemsworth, and what a joy that was. Lovely. I mean, they’re very lucky, The Witcher, to have had both Henry and Liam. There’s plenty in store — plenty of the usual double-dealing that you can expect from the characters."
Netflix has only revealed a brief clip of Liam Hemsworth wearing Geralt of Rivia's white wig. The Australian actor certainly looks the part, but fans are eager to see if Hemsworth can also nail Geralt's iconic, gruff voice, and how closely it will match Cavill's performance. Die-hard Henry Cavill fans have already gone on the offensive, writing off the new season after leaked set photos revealed Liam Hemsworth in full costume. Those fans are forgetting that cinematography, color grading, and other visual effects will make the costumes look far better than rainy English weather (where the show is being filmed) every could.

Graham McTavish Says 'The Witcher' Is Like 'James Bond'
While the hardcore fans turned on Netflix's The Witcher long ago, the departure of Henry Cavill seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for many. But Graham McTavish says fans should look past the casting, because it doesn't matter who plays Geralt, it just matters that they embody the character well, much like James Bond. And his comparison to 007 feels even more appropriate, considering Henry Cavill has long been the fan-favorite to take over from Daniel Craig.
"James Bond has been played by seven different actors, and people still love it because the core of a James Bond film, I think, is the same as The Witcher," he explained.

Well, at Least 'The Witcher' Fans Have One Reason to Be Excited
Fans loved Henry Cavill because he adored the franchise. But don't forget Liam Hemsworth is also a long-time Witcher fan.

McTavish also repeated a comparison made by Liam Hemsworth earlier this year. Hemsworth said taking over from Henry Cavill feels like playing Doctor Who, where so many famous actors have already taken on the challenge. McTavish said:
"It’s like Doctor Who. It doesn’t seem to have been impacted. It’s really about being true to the world, and as long as the actor is good, and the scripts remain good — which they have — I think the transition will be very, very seamless, actually."
No release date has been announced for Season 4 of The Witcher yet. Filming is currently at the tail end, and should be wrapping soon. Netflix has already announced the franchise will end after Season 5, which will begin production in the new year.
