Remote Check allows you to complete a series of hearing tests using the Nucleus Smart App, then electronically send the results to your clinician for review. NOTE Remote Check must be enabled by your clinician. Tap Remote Check to see if it is time to start a Remote Check.

How often does a cochlear implant need to be replaced? ›

An older implant is never removed/replaced if it is still working unless there is a decline in performance. The cochlear implant manufacturers release new software which is updated in the external sound processor; however, just like with personal computers, new hardware upgrades occur approximately every 7-8 years.

What happens if you lose your cochlear implant? ›

To unpair a sound processor – if for example you want to use a backup pair of sound processors– open the App's menu. Tap 'Settings', 'Processor Settings', 'Unpair your processors' and when the pop-up box appears tap 'Yes'. If streaming is enabled for your processors, a prompt to disable streaming will display.
