'The Essex Serpent' (2022)
In the first seasons of the Starz original, Claire has a hard time deciding whether to return to Frank (Tobias Menzies) in the 20th century or stay with Jamie in Scotland during the 1700s. This romantic crossroads is somewhat similar to what Cora and Will face in The Essex Serpent. The series follows Cora on her quest for a mystical serpent that is terrorizing a town in Essex. Although the locals deem her an outsider, Will doesn't treat her with the same hostility. As their friendship becomes more established, their feelings for each other get in the way of Will's relationship with his loving wife.
