My Project
I am an assistant coach for our high school girls' soccer team of 25-30 9th-12th graders. Last season, our school joined a new conference that added a lot of travel time and long nights for our team. Being a teenager and student-athlete is hard, and I would like to supply our girls with everything they need to make their jobs easier.
With the extended bus rides, being able to provide Gatorade for the girls to stay hydrated and snacks when they're hungry is very appreciated.
Hydration is such an important topic that we preach to our team. Last year it made such a difference being able to hand out mini Gatorade options each trip/game and I would love to be able to provide that again.
Some of them eat lunch as early as 10:30 am, spend the afternoon in classes, then get on the bus, play soccer at 6:00 pm, and not have a real meal until as late as 9:00-10:00 pm! Providing snacks for every game made such a difference for the girls.
I also added in a few "emergency kit" items we are still in need of and storage for those items. Tide pens for stains on white jerseys, hair bands, etc.
